First of all, the top and bottom parts of the image are thrown away to make the image look 16:9. Second, the video is recorded deinterlaced hence with common artifacts that come with simple deinterlacing methods. The image is quite beautiful still, this really is a nice device. Yet it would have been way more useful if it simply did record the video signal as it is, with no alterations.
